It has been estimated that the federal government will have to incur PKR 18 billion in costs if it accepts the recommendations forwarded by the special committee for the project. The recommendations are in regard to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/dasu-dam-land-acquisition-pm-orders-issue-resolution.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resolving the issue of land acquisition for Dasu<\/a> hydropower project, which will contribute to a demand of 4,300 megawatts.<\/p>\n<p>During the PSC meeting, the special committee will submit its preliminary report. A senior official involved with the project\u2019s ongoing discussions stated that a preliminary report; also serving as a proposal, has been prepared. The total cost is over PKR 600 billion for both of the two stages to be completed for Dasu Dam. In an additional comment, the official said the special committee is only responsible for submitting the report and it will be the government\u2019s decision to accept or reject the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>A petition signed by the representatives of the affected people has also been prepared. This will be submitted to PSC by the local MNA.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for utilisation of the funds approved in 2014 was extended for one year for a third time. The major reason behind funds not being utilised is the land acquisition issue.
