Applications to this effect will be received till January 10.<\/p>\n<p>The government plans to construct five million affordable residential units in five years under its Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP). Another 10,000 residential units will be completed by June 2019. Applicants will be provided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/interest-free-loans-for-nphp-hopefuls.html\">interest-free loans<\/a> worth PKR 500,000 under the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said that the construction work on 6,000 low-cost houses would soon begin in major cities of Punjab such as Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan. He added that the working group has identified 200,000-kanal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/nphp-report-on-land-identified-in-punjab-sought.html\">land bank for the project<\/a>. The authorities concerned have been tasked to submit their recommendations in this regard.<\/p>\n<p>The second phase of NPHP will cover the construction of 1,700 residential units in Jhelum while 10,000 houses will be built in Sialkot.
