The latest initiative would allow the passengers to book tickets online as well as receive updates about the timing and location.<\/p>\n<p>The application is being developed by Syed Muddassar Hussain, a Sukkur-based IT expert. Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed will soon launch the mobile app at a ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Trackers will be installed in all trains, and the customers would receive updates regarding location, upcoming stations and even the speed of their train.<\/p>\n<p>Hussain claimed the application would be much more efficient and advanced as compared to the previous system of inquiry through the 117 hotline.<\/p>\n<p>The project is being completed at an estimated cost of PKR 7 million. The authorities concerned have also imported 350 trackers worth PKR 70 million from China.
