Lahore: The Sindh Revenue Department has been ordered to retrieve encroached properties belonging to minorities, a news source reported. A two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar issued the directives.<\/p>\n
The bench was hearing a suo motu matter at the Lahore registry relating to encroachment of properties owned by the Hindu community. MNA Dr Rasmesh, who represented the community, submitted a report on encroached land in different areas of the province – including Mithi, Larkana, Kashmore, and Sukkur.<\/p>\n
The officials concerned informed the bench that several cases regarding the ownership of properties had been pending before different civil courts. The chief justice gave a six-month deadline to the civil courts to decide the pending cases.
