Gilgit: China will fund the construction of two hydropower projects, a women\u2019s university, cancer and cardiac hospitals, a medical college, and a logistics hub in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), a news source reported. The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) has included the projects in the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. According to Babar Aman, secretary of GB Planning and Development Department, a special economic zone (SEZ) will be established in Maqpoondas area of Gilgit. It is pertinent to mention that as many as 10 CPEC projects worth USD 19 billion have already been completed, while 12 projects are in their final phases.
