The section has been launched on the directives of Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/sindh-cm-to-allot-land-to-encroachment-affectees.html\">Sindh CM to allot land to encroachment affectees<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sources close to the development said that Noor-ul-Haq, a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) engineer, has been appointed as the section\u2019s head. KMC\u2019s engineering department would also ensure the removal of debris on priority basis.<\/p>\n<p>Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani said the city administration would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/3500-kmc-tenants-to-be-provided-temporary-shops.html\">accommodate 3,500 KMC tenants <\/a>in temporary structures in the first phase. The shops would be constructed in KMC markers and government land. In the second phase, he added, displaced traders not paying rent to KMC would be provided a place to run their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>KMC had\u00a0earlier decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/kmc-to-lodge-firs-against-traders-who-re-establish-encroachments.html\">lodge criminal cases<\/a> against traders involved in re-establishing encroachments.
