Following construction, it will be able store 300,000 cusecs of water and help resolve the water-related issues in Peshawar, Nowshera, and Charsadda.<\/p>\n<p>Wapda Chairman General (Rt.) Mozammil Hussain has assured that the new contractor will mobilise the project site within ten weeks. He added that Wapda will also build the Kuafer Dam, which will reduce the project\u2019s cost. Earlier, all such works were managed by the finalised bidder.<\/p>\n<p>Wapda is planning to complete Mohmand Dam\u2019s construction in May 2023, which is expected to be six months earlier than the stipulated time. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/mohmand-dam-to-be-inaugurated-next-month.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">groundbreaking ceremony<\/a> for the project had been scheduled for January 2, but has now been postponed until further directions by PM Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the contract for the dam\u2019s land acquisition has been finalised. Wapda has paid PKR 684 million to the departments concerned.
