The government is seeking amendments in the LDA Act in its bid to construct low-cost residential units, under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/chinese-company-expresses-interest-in-nphp.html\">Chinese company expresses interest in NPHP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The chief town planner has been appointed as convener of the committee. Other members include Chief Metropolitan Planner Ibrar Sheikh, and Deputy Secretary Housing Waheed Butt. The committee, which will also suggest policies to promote the housing sector, has been asked to submit its recommendations to the housing secretary in 20 days.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab Government had previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/nphp-land-identified-in-lahore-project-to-start-in-march.html\">identified land<\/a> for the project. A layout plan will be finalised till March after which the project will be formally inaugurated in\u00a0Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Faisalabad.
