State land worth billions of rupees has been found to be occupied by influential people and groups.<\/p>\n<p>RDA and WASA have warned of crackdowns starting from January 14<sup>th<\/sup> in case of non-compliance. The measure has already been approved by the authorities concerned.<\/p>\n<p>Land belonging to both these civic agencies remains under the encroachment of influential groups. In some places, shops have been illegally built on the land. A portion of the area is also occupied by members of the municipal corporation, and notices has been sent to them as well.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial activities are planned by both agencies on the retrieved land &#8211; something which will help them improve their financial position.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, RDA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/over-100-illegal-shops-demolished-in-rawalpindi.html\">building control department demolished over 100 illegal shops<\/a>, warehouses, showrooms, and shades as part of its ongoing anti-encroachment drive.
