The new bridge shall also accommodate a separate route for the Metro Bus Service.

The bridge is a part of the three packages of the development plans regarding logistics of the city. The approved development plan includes the relocation and acquisition of Utilities for Lahore Ring Road (LRR) Master Plan Package-1 and it will constitute a total cost of Rs9.95 billion. The package 2 for LRR, which is designed to provide an alternate land to existing residents was approved at a revised cost of 9.9 billion. The package 3 costs 8.67 billion for the same purpose.

The said moves by the provincial government are deemed as healthy for the real estate of Lahore as ease of access adds to the value of a locality. Now with the construction of a new bridge on river Ravi, the property market of northern Lahore is destined to an imminent boom, which will benefit many and may trigger further development plans in this area.

The government of Punjab, in an attempt to bridge the gap between the northern part of Lahore and the main city, has approved the budget for the construction of a new bridge on River Ravi.
