Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday sought an implementation report regarding the commercialisation of residential land \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

A two-member bench of Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Kausar Sultana heard the case. The bench expressed dismay over non-implementation of its orders.<\/p>\n

The building department\u2019s counsel informed that SBCA was not authorised to remove encroachments<\/a>. In response, Justice Khan remarked that the issue pertained to illegal constructions.<\/p>\n

The counsel maintained that SBCA was unable to conduct operations on public land. The bench ordered the officials to remove illegal constructions with police assistance.<\/p>\n

The high court had earlier ordered SBCA to present its Karachi Master Plan on January 18<\/a>. The court heard a petition which recommended action against marriage halls built on amenity plots.<\/p>\n
