Lahore: The Punjab government has allowed industrialists to construct warehouses on agricultural land \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

The decision forms part of the recently introduced ease of doing business (EODB) initiative. EODB is aimed at removing bottlenecks and facilitating investors for smooth business operations.<\/p>\n

The Lahore Metropolitan Corporation (LMC) previously forwarded a summary to the provincial government. The decision regarding warehouses has been taken under Land Rules, 2014, Clause 12.<\/p>\n

A warehouse will be constructed on an area measuring 10,000 square feet. Sixty percent of the area will be utilised for general storage. At least 30% will be left designated as open area. The height of the warehouse has been fixed at 38 feet.<\/p>\n

Industrialists have been asked to construct their warehouses at a distance of 300km from the road. Furthermore, they have been told to utilise the structure only for storage purpose.<\/p>\n
