Islamabad: The government has acquired 86% of land for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam \u2013 a news source quoted Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda.<\/p>\n

He said that the government will provide 19,062 acres of its land<\/a> for the project. He added that a total of 18,357 acres will be acquired from private individuals.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the government has acquired 740 acres out of over 9,000 acres of land for the construction of Dasu Dam.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform had in December released a sum of PKR 4.73 billion <\/a>for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam. The authorities concerned have put the total cost at PKR 474 billion.<\/p>\n
