Quetta: The government of Balochistan will launch Safe City Projects in all major and out-lying cities of the province, a news source reported. The decision was finalised in a high-level meeting – chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan – on the law order and situation in Balochistan.<\/p>\n

Inspector General of Police, Frontier Corps officials, and the Home Secretary briefed the meeting\u2019s participants. They shared information on the efforts of the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for maintaining peace in the province.<\/p>\n

The officials were provided a briefing on the ongoing implementation of the Quetta Safe City Project. They were told that planning is underway for similar projects in all other major cities of Balochistan. These projects will be extended to the border cities as well.<\/p>\n

The CM urged the LEAs to cooperate among themselves, and security forces to develop for the development of an effective counter-terrorism strategy. He directed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to prepare a report about residential and other facilities for security forces deployed in remote areas.<\/p>\n

Expressing his appreciation over the incoming bout of international investments for Balochistan, the CM said this will boost job opportunities and trade activities in the province.<\/p>\n

The meeting also reviewed the National Action Plan, and the issue of capacity building of police and Levies under the Pakistan Army. Additionally, the attendees deliberated on the security situation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and Gwadar.
