The 6-storey building was being illegally constructed on the stream\u2019s property.<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/encroachments-removed-by-90-kda.html\">Encroachments removed by 90%: KDA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Four floors had been constructed in the first phase, with two added during the second. This development had disrupted the stream\u2019s natural flow. Illegal constructions on about 2 acres of land still continued to roll out. They threatened to cause flooding in Clifton\u2019s Teen Talwar area during rainfall spells.<\/p>\n<p>At present, KMC Deputy Director Mueen Ghori is overseeing the demolition process.<\/p>\n<p>A few months ago, the former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Saqib Nisar, and the Mayor Karachi had visited this area. The chief justice had expressed his displeasure at the illegal constructions in the area.<\/p>\n<p>KMC began taking action against the unauthorized apartment building on the instructions of the Supreme Court following the visit.
