Islamabad: The commission for reviewing Islamabad\u2019s master plan has asked to ban unauthorised constructions in the capital, a news source reported. The ban will make the revision process more effective.<\/p>\n

The commission met with Chief Commissioner and Capital Development Authority (CDA) chief at the CDA headquarters. The participants discussed the unauthorised constructions in detail. They observed that such constructions have continued in various areas of the city. They stressed that such practices must be stopped to ensure proper revision. Despite a decline in the constructions within last two years, only a complete ban will be a better option.<\/p>\n

The CDA chief stated that advertisements will be out for hiring new consultants in three weeks\u2019 time. The new consultants will ensure dedication towards the revision process, which is necessary for such a challenging task.<\/p>\n

The hired consultants will conduct several studies. These will include traffic, water supply, electricity, sewerage, environment, existing infrastructure, demographics, and more. The commission also invited the Planning Commission\u2019s input for transparency of the process.<\/p>\n

The commission has assured that all stakeholders will be involved in the revision of the master plan. These will also include residents of urban and slum areas, lawyers, environmentalists, and media people. Commission will begin public hearings in two weeks.<\/p>\n
