Islamabad: The government plans to transform 20 spots into tourist destinations in a bid to develop the country\u2019s tourism sector \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza unveiled these plans at a news conference in Islamabad. She said that the government will ensure provision of security and other facilities to tourists on a priority basis.<\/p>\n

In order to promote the sector, the government is contemplating relaxing its visa procedure for 97 countries. Dr Mirza said that the residents of at least 175 countries<\/a> will be able to obtain their visas electronically.<\/p>\n

She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is personally monitoring the development of the tourism sector. She urged the federal and provincial governments to collaborate for the revival of tourism in the country.<\/p>\n
