Lahore: The Government of Punjab has prepared a Water Act to stop water wastage, reported a news source. The act forbids domestic users from installing water pumps without procuring suitable licenses.<\/p>\n

Read:\u00a0Chinese companies to invest in water treatment plants<\/a><\/p>\n

The act is meant especially for the domestic users. The citizens can no longer install motor for pumping underground water without a license. Water Ranker Authority will issue the license.<\/p>\n

Read:\u00a0Punjab govt to install water filtration plants on rivers, canals<\/a><\/p>\n

The act also recommends similar sanctions for installation of tube wells by farmers. If this recommendation is approved, Irrigation Department will issue the license to the farmers.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the act also encompasses the companies that sell bottled water. Water Commission will issue license to these companies.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the Water Act Bill has been sent to Punjab Assembly for approval. Please note the Punjab Cabinet\u2019s subcommittee has already approved the Water Act.<\/p>\n

As its prerogative, Punjab assembly may or may not introduce some amendments in the Water Act Bill.<\/p>\n
