It was shut down on January 5 and remained closed for maintenance during the low flow period of the Neelum River.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) detailed the current state of the project. He said that all civil, mechanical and electrical works were in good condition. He stated that minor repairs had been carried out on the 3.5 KM-long underground tailrace, draft tubes, bonnet gates, generating units, and the main inlet valves. Some auxiliary equipment also required repair.<\/p>\n<p>The officials also tested the spillways and debris channel gates of the dam structure at its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/power-production-from-neelum-jhelum-plant-doubled.html\">full operational leve<\/a>l. This test proved to be satisfactory.<\/p>\n<p>Experts expect the NJHP to produce 4.6 billion units during 2019-2020.
