Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed that the development work on Ataturk Avenue<\/a> should be completed soon, according to a news source. Chairman CDA Amer Ali Ahmed issued these orders. He visited the site and gave instructions for the road to be reconstructed at a faster pace.<\/p>\n

Ahmed was informed that the delays in work were due to issues with the electricity and water supply lines. He directed the officials concerned to work with the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to shift the electricity supply lines.<\/p>\n

He stated that the reconstruction of Ataturk Avenue, also known as Embassy Road, would ease traffic flow in the city. The project was initiated in 2017 but was halted due to environmental concerns. Now, an environment protection tribunal has cleared the project.<\/p>\n

As per the PC-1 of the project, it will be extended from Khayaban-e-Suhrwardy to Ayub Chowk. A 24-foot lane, along with a nine-foot-wide shoulder, will also be added to the road.<\/p>\n

The construction of a bridge and two box culverts are also part of this project. It is expected to be completed by September 2019 and will cost PKR 235 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
