Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to shift its focus to develop the city\u2019s previously ignored sectors, reported a news source. These include sectors I-14, I-15, and I-16.<\/p>\n
CDA Chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed, who is also Islamabad\u2019s Chief Commissioner, paid a visit to these sectors. CDA engineering teams, along with officials from the relevant directorates, accompanied him during the visit.<\/p>\n
Residents of these sectors face major civic issues in the form of deteriorated roads and lack of access to basic facilities. On the delayed construction of the access route for I-16, the chairman was told that the tender for the road could not be floated due to a shortage of PKR 5 million. In response, Ahmed ordered the CDA Finance Wing to arrange the funds within one week.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he also instructed CDA Sanitation director to make arrangements for solid waste management in these sectors.<\/p>\n
The chairman decided to provide basic services to the residents of Sector I-14 and I-16 under the Services Maintenance Programme. For this end, he also ordered the staff concerned to complete survey and planning proceedings within one month.<\/p>\n
The CDA premier was also informed that despite a feasibility study and cost estimations, funds for developing sector I-15 still remained unissued. To this, Ahmed ordered for the matter to be resolved within three weeks\u2019 timeframe.<\/p>\n
