Lahore: The revenue officials in Punjab have sought a set of guidelines from the Board of Investment (BOI) with regard to registering property transfers and issuing fard<\/em> \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

Until the new guidelines are received, patwaris<\/em> remain prohibited from carrying out their tasks. This move has also temporarily halted the sale and purchase activities of properties across the province.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court has barred patwaris<\/a> from functioning in urban areas. Former chief justice Saqib Nisar had issued the orders to this effect in a suo motu<\/em> case.<\/p>\n

In light of these directives, the revenue department has directed all the deputy commissioners concerned to stop patwaris from preparing land transfer deeds.<\/p>\n
