Peshawar: A fleet of twenty buses for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project has reached Peshawar, a news source reported. The buses arrived in the city after an in-land road journey from Karachi. They are currently parked at an enclosure near Zarghoni Masjid, Hayatabad.<\/p>\n
The minister for local government and rural development Shahram Khan Tarakai said in a statement that the arrival of the buses means that the government is geared to fulfil its promises to the people.<\/p>\n
The buses had arrived in Karachi about a week ago, and made their way to Peshawar on trucks.<\/p>\n
The minister informed that work on the BRT project is in full swing, with the initiative set for inauguration on March 23. He further said the buses will be divided into separate sections for males and females. Special seats will be designated for the disabled.<\/p>\n
