The schemes have been launched under World Bank Development Loan.<\/p>\n<p>The Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation will spend PKR 140 million to improve road conditions. In addition, it will also fix traffic signals and street lights, and rehabilitate the sewerage lines and sewers. The corporation is also looking to utilise some of these funds to fix their out dated machinery and repair the cars.<\/p>\n<p>The development schemes is now in final shape to be sent to Rawalpindi\u2019s Mayor. Once the mayor gives it a nod, the proposal will be forwarded to the World Bank for issuance of funds.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, World Bank approved loans worth PKR 270 million under its development loan schemes for various projects. These include construction of municipal library and a slaughter house, and upgradation of Pir Wadhai General Bus Stand.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the funds were also utilised for rehabilitation projects for several roads and streets in Rawalpindi.
