Muzaffarabad: Representatives of traders and shopkeepers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have been given a month to submit their recommendations on the efficient implementation of a ban on no-biodegradable polythene bags, according to a news source.<\/p>\n

This leeway period was announced by AJK Minister for School Education and Environment Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani at a seminar regarding this matter. The title of the seminar was \u2018Prohibition of Manufacturing, Sale, and Usage of Non-Degradable Polythene Bags and Promotion of the Substitute Environment Friendly Degradable Bags\u2019. \u00a0It was held at the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM).<\/p>\n

Gillani emphasised on the need to protect the environment in Kashmir. He also stated that these polythene bags cause issues in the sewerage systems of cities. The traders and shopkeepers have been given a month to think of the best ways to implement the ban effectively.
