Khushab: The Anti-Corruption Department, Khushab Region, has sealed 22 showrooms on non-payment of plot conversion fee and map approval charges, reported a news source. The division-wide operation was launched on the orders of Anti-Corruption Sargodha Director Asim Raza.<\/p>\n
In a similar drive launched in the past, the department recovered PKR 140 million from educational institutes and commercial units and also sealed many hotels and plazas. The owners of these properties were defaulters of map approval fees and plot conversion charges.<\/p>\n
At the moment, the crackdown against fee defaulters is being carried in the entire division. The coordinated operation involves cooperation of officials from various municipality committees.<\/p>\n
Some of the car showrooms sealed by Anti-Corruption Circle Officer Atif Shaukat include Madina Motors, Sultan Bahu Motors, Butt Motors and Kashmir Motors. Reportedly, the showroom owners are defaulters of millions of rupees in terms of conversion fees.<\/p>\n
