Its annual energy generation is expected to reach 3.84 billion units during the current calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>The 1,410 megawatts Tarbela 4<sup>th<\/sup> Extension hydropower project was constructed on Tarbela Dam\u2019s tunnel number 4.<\/p>\n<p>The project has three generating units, each with a capacity of 470 megawatts. It has been envisaged to provide an average of 3.84 billion units of electricity per annum to the grid.<\/p>\n<p>Annual benefits of the project have been estimated at PKR 30 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The WAPDA representative said that Tarbela 4th extension is a component of the \u2018least-cost energy generation plan\u2019 being implemented by Wapda on a priority basis.
