Lahore: The Punjab government has constituted a committee to prepare recommendations with regard to converting Murree\u2019s Punjab House into a university \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

This committee is comprised of officials of the revenue, tourism, communication, youth affairs, and finance departments. A decision to this effect was taken by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.<\/p>\n

The Punjab House was built during former chief minister Manzoor Wattoo\u2019s tenure. Constructed on 8.75 acres of land, it currently has at least 100 employees.<\/p>\n

At present, the building is being maintained by the Service and General Administration Department (S&GAD). It also serves as the preferred guest house for the chief minister and other top officials.<\/p>\n

As per reports, the PM had initially wanted to convert the Punjab House into an international-level hotel. However, he later gave his approval for establishing it as a university.<\/p>\n
