This initiative is expected to be completed within 16 months. The first phase will cover Quetta and Gwadar. The total cost of the project is approximately PKR 2.84 billion. It will later be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/balochistan-govt-to-launch-safe-city-projects.html\">expanded to other cities<\/a> of Balochistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Quetta Safe City project was included in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2014. An agreement to this effect was signed with the Special Communications Organisation (SCO) last year.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary Science &amp; Technology Mehboob Ahmed Shahwani said that the purpose of this initiative is to maintain law and order in the city.
