Peshawar: The Pakistan Railways (PR) staff has demolished 49 illegally constructed buildings and structures on its land in Lakki Marwat, reported a news source. PR Divisional Superintendent Nasir Khaleeli gave the orders for the operation, which was headed by PR Special Magistrate Qurat-ul-Ain Wazir and PR Assistant Executive Engineer Muhammad Shabir Awan.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the 54-marlas of commercial land retrieved in the operation had remained under illegal occupation for last 22 years – with the land mafia having constructed restaurants, shops and hotels on it. The estimated market value of the retrieved land is worth over PKR 25 million.<\/p>\n

The PR staff used heavy machinery, along with the assistance of PR Police and Lakki Marwat Police, to conduct the operation.<\/p>\n
