Hyderabad: Construction work is set to begin on the Hyderabad Southern Bypass on a priority basis, a news source reported. The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner (DC) Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch.<\/p>\n

The DC added that public welfare projects need prioritisation for the construction work to begin soon. He remarked that the construction of the Southern Bypass\/Ring Road will benefit the three major cities of Sindh. These include Hyderabad, Thatta, and Jamshoro.<\/p>\n

The General Manager for the project, Hassan Raza, also briefed the meeting\u2019s participants. He said that the Southern Bypass\/Ring Road project would help in reducing the number of traffic problems in the cities mentioned.<\/p>\n

He informed that once the project is completed, traffic flow from Karachi and upper Sindh would not be able to enter Hyderabad; thereby preventing an overall disturbed flow of traffic in the area.<\/p>\n

Raza informed the meeting that the Ring Road will be about 54.3-kilometres long; based on a 3×3 lane system. This road stretch will host five interchanges, four flyovers, eight subways, and four railway bridges. Meanwhile, the lakes passing through the Sindh and Hyderabad rivers will get an overhead bridge.<\/p>\n
