Lahore: Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has sealed 62 service stations on account of not installing water recycling plants, reported a news source. The drive is in accordance with orders issued by Lahore High Court (LHC), making it mandatory for car wash stations to install water recycling plants.<\/p>\n

During this particular drive, MCL sealed 62 out of 269 service stations operating in WASA-controlled areas.<\/p>\n

To cope with the increasing use of water in such facilities, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) also has a plan in place. The authority has decided to send water bills to such service stations at increased tariff. The new bills will be higher by 50%.<\/p>\n

WASA will charge 50% extra to service stations operating without water recycling plants every three months. Reportedly, the authority is set to send bills at the higher tariff for the month of February 2019.<\/p>\n
