\"\"<\/a>Not too long ago, Capital Development Authority was believed to the best of all civic authorities in Pakistan for not only keeping Islamabad clean but also for efficiently managing every issue concerning its huge territorial boundaries. Lately, there has been a lot going on in the city that has made the CDA appear inefficient and less interested in maintaining Islamabad\u2019s raving status of being the prettiest and the most carefully managed city of Pakistan. It appears that the sudden changes in the CDA\u2019s management are contributing to its reduced efficiency. Therefore, making it hard for the Authority to cope with the pounding problems.<\/p>\n

The biggest issue concerning CDA right now is perhaps ensuring a safe monsoon for the dwellers of Islamabad. For many, it is already too late to avoid flood like situation in various sectors including F-6, F-7\/4, G-7\/1-2-3 and G-8. The encroachments along the monsoon waterways and streams are a constant threat as, due to flooded channels, they can collapse anytime causing tragedies.\u00a0 Secondly, there is severe blockage in the spillways due to addition of plastic bags, garbage and other nonperishable materials, which can cause a massive overflow anytime. The CDA has not made any efforts to curb this situation and ignored it completely.<\/p>\n

In addition, the speed of development work at various sites in Islamabad is very slow. In fact various delayed, halted or postponed projects from the past are under the spotlight once again, haunting the CDA and initiating more controversies about it. Just recently, the CDA burdened itself with the development of two more sectors in Islamabad i.e. C-14 and C-15. This raised questions about the pending projects of Park Enclave and the several times inaugurated sector D-12. For biting more than it can chew, the CDA has invited much criticism. It is generally believed that these acts are more than just mere negligence or mismanagement of funds on part of the CDA. There are many other issues that bother residents of Islamabad on day to day basis and very little is done to fix them. It is no news that much of CDA\u2019s attention stays on fixing petty issues of already developed sectors and posh markets while the less developed and low profile areas continue to suffer in silence. CDA should address the issues of sanitation, water pilferage, water shortage, encroachment, and waste management in less privileged areas of the Islamabad Capital Territory on urgent basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
