Islamabad: The government has decided to complete projects pertaining to the oil and gas sector in a phased manner, a news source quoted Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan as saying.<\/p>\n

The minister, who was chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday, said sustainable energy was a strategic requirement of Pakistan as it would help address economic challenges.<\/p>\n

He said that the government was giving special attention to oil, gas and LNG projects as they make up 75 percent of the country\u2019s energy supply mix.<\/p>\n

He ordered the department concerned to upgrade the country\u2019s gas infrastructure on a priority basis in a bid to improve efficiency standards. He said projects should be undertaken after careful and effective planning.<\/p>\n
