Lahore: The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has launched projects worth USD 3 billion that will be funded by foreign investors, a news source quoted PBIT Chairman Sardar Tanvir Ilyas as saying. Read: PBIT decides to set up SEZ in Punjab He said that the board plans to launch more projects worth USD 6 billion in the near future. He added that the provincial government recently introduced a one-window initiative in a bid to facilitate foreign businessmen. The PBIT chairman said that foreign investors have showed a keen interest in financing different sectors of the national economy, such as agriculture, IT, food security, and construction. He added that the availability of raw material, labour and infrastructure make Punjab an attractive destination for investment purposes. He stressed the need to launch more projects on a public-private partnership basis. He said that the government is committed to developing the national economy and creating more employment opportunities for the youth.
