Out of the four schemes, the participants referred three to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/uplift-projects-worth-pkr-806m-approved-by-cdwp.html\">Uplift projects worth PKR 806m approved by CDWP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The approved projects include a hydropower programme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) \u2013 to be developed at a cost of PKR 552.71 million. The three schemes forwarded to ECNEC for formal approval are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 500kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission System between Tajikistan and Pakistan for Central Asia-South Asia Transmission Interconnection (CASA-1000), at a cost of PKR 45.989 billion<\/li>\n<li>A 310MW hydropower project for Balakot on Kunhar River, a tributary of the Jhelum River, at a cost of PKR 85.913 billion<\/li>\n<li>A Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Red Line project for Sindh at a cost of PKR 77.598 billion; under which metro bus corridors would be constructed from Numaish to Malir Halt depot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Monday cleared four projects mostly pertaining to the energy sector and worth billions of rupees &#8211; a news source reported.
