Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has barred the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from demolishing wedding halls and marquees in the federal capital, a news source reported. Read:\u00a07,000 marriage halls and marquees issued notices Justice Amir Farooq, who heads the single-member IHC bench, issued orders on a petition filed by owners of wedding halls against the civic agency. The petitioners maintained that they were willing to get their businesses regularised. However, they argued that CDA had fixed heavy registration fees to this effect. They owners further contented that the civic agency was not authorised to charge regularisation fee from wedding halls operating in rural areas of the capital city.
