Lahore: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saliha Saeed was recently briefed on the situation of underground water in Lahore, a news source reported. The DC was chairing a meeting of the water commission.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by assistant commissioners and representatives from WASA, education, and other departments.<\/p>\n
After the briefing, the deputy commissioner said that if the current circumstances persist, the underground water table will fall low. She said that a strategy needs to be prepared the situation.<\/p>\n
She further that WASA\u2019s water conservation public service message should be played before movies at cinema halls. Additionally awareness campaigns on water conservation should be conducted through schools.<\/p>\n
It was also decided that water used for ablution in the mosques should be saved underground and then used to water plants.<\/p>\n
