Both sides will sign the final agreement for the project\u2019s total cost and financing and the resources and options available at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Sources report that the ML-1 project will reach completion in the next five years \u2013 construction taking place in three phases. It consists of a 1,872-km long railway track from Peshawar to Karachi, which will be built along the existing one. This will convert the development into a double-track route. The project is expected to incur a cost of USD 8.2 billion. It also includes the constriction of bridges and crossings.<\/p>\n<p>The ML-1 project is aimed at expanding the capacity of Pakistan Railways in several ways.
