Haripur: The project for uplift and beautification of Haripur district will begin in July, a news source quoted the deputy commissioner Arifullah Awan. He said that the government has approved PKR 1 billion for the project, which will be implemented in all three tehsils of the district, including Haripur, Khanpur and Ghazi, in two phases.<\/p>\n

He was speaking to the members of Haripur Union of Journalists here on Tuesday. Assistant commissioner Arafat Mujtaba Bharwana was also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n

Under the mega project, 54 small and large projects would be executed at the cost of PKR 700 million in phase one, while PKR 300 million have been approved for the second phase. He said all three tehsil municipal administrations and communication and works departments would execute the projects.<\/p>\n

He further said that the projects are meant to improve the condition of parks, footpaths and media centre, develop greenbelts, repair roads, renovate intersections, manage traffic, improve conditions at bus terminals, install monuments and sculptures, fix faulty streetlights, put up signboards, relocate the roadside power poles, rehabilitate heritage buildings, develop tourist sites and food street, and build public lavatories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
