Lahore: The Supreme Court (SC)\u00a0 has allowed the authorities concerned to issue fard<\/em> (record of rights) in urban areas, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

Previously, the apex court (SC) had banned this policy in urban areas.<\/p>\n

The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) plans to make amendments to Section 3 of Punjab Revenue Act in a bid to lift the ban.<\/p>\n

According to sources,\u00a0a summary\u00a0with respect to the amendments in the relevant law has been dispatched to the law department.<\/p>\n

As per reports, the government has incurred heavy losses in the form of transfer fees and recoveries amounting to millions of rupees as a result of the ban, which was imposed some five months and eight days ago. Moreover, the general public has also been facing issues due to non-issuance of fard<\/em>.<\/p>\n
