Multan: The Punjab Government approved funds worth PKR 300 million for the conservation of 18 monuments, a news source reported. The Auqaf Department will receive the funds for this purpose. Among the 18 monuments, 11 are located in South Punjab<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The approved funds will be invested in development work as well as geo-mapping of the Auqaf properties using computer technology. According to sources, funds would also be used for the automated collection of donations at shrines.<\/p>\n

An official of the Auqaf Department stated that the approved funding has been included in the Annual Development Plan (ADP) of the Punjab budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20. The authorities concerned will also build Quran Mehals (Palaces) at the divisional level in Punjab using the approved resources.<\/p>\n
