Lahore: The federal government has extended the deadline for the Asset Declaration Scheme to July 3, 2019, a news source reported. The public will be able to avail this provision until the end of banking hours<\/a> on July 3.<\/p>\n

Advisor to PM on Finance Dr Hafeez Sheikh stated that the government decided to extend the deadline given the public\u2019s overwhelming response to the amnesty scheme. He added that the additional three days would facilitate the masses. He advised the public to take full advantage of the scheme in order to avoid difficulties in the future.<\/p>\n

Sheikh also revealed that the government has formed a \u2018Benami<\/em> Commission\u2019, which will be responsible for probing undeclared assets under the amnesty scheme. He added that the commission would begin working after the scheme\u2019s extended deadline has passed.<\/p>\n
