Islamabad: The federal cabinet is going to look into a summary seeking the confirmation of changes in the master plan of Islamabad \u2013 a news source reported.<\/p>\n

The summary includes the elimination of a greenbelt in Sector H-16 and the realignment of 17th<\/sup> Avenue, where construction of the Islamabad Model Prison is underway.<\/p>\n

According to sources, several acres of land in H-16 fall in the buffer zone and green areas, where no construction can take place. However, a prison project was launched there several years ago. 80 feet reserved for 17th<\/sup> Avenue were also affected by the jail project.<\/p>\n

Now, the authorities are making efforts to get post-facto approval from the cabinet and planning has also begun for the realignment of 17th<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n

Islamabad has its own police and judicial system, but it does not have a prison, so its prisoners are kept in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
