Lahore: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed all cantonment boards of the country to remove billboard panels within six weeks, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

Read<\/strong>: Companies given one week to remove illegal billboards<\/a><\/p>\n

A two-judge bench of the apex court comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Azmat Saeed issued the orders on a case pertaining to the removal of billboards from all major cities of the country.<\/p>\n

Previously, the SC had issued orders<\/a> to remove billboards from public spaces. Following the orders, authorities concerned conducted multiple operations to remove the billboards.<\/p>\n

During Thursday\u2019s hearing, the bench observed that the authorities concerned had yet to remove several billboard structures situated in different areas.<\/p>\n

Justice Saeed stated that the removal of the structures was the responsibility of the cantonment boards. He advised that the structures should be auctioned off provided the advertising companies do not respond to the boards\u2019 requests for removing them.<\/p>\n
