Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) recently conducted a massive operation on Peshawar Road (N-5) during which it reclaimed seven kanals of land worth PKR 70 million, a news source reported. Previously, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed had issued directives for the commencement of this anti-encroachment drive.<\/p>\n

As per reports, the road\u2019s right-of-way (ROW), situated between Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (EME) College and Tarnol, had been dotted with 50 illegal constructions.<\/p>\n

This anti-encroachment drive was a joint initiative of the NHA, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration. The officials removed illegal structures including 10 kiosks, 15 shops, four verandas, three staircases, and 18 sheds.<\/p>\n
