Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Communication held a meeting on Thursday to discuss road projects planned for the next 10 years, a news source reported. Standing Committee Chairman Zahir Shah Toru presided over this meeting.<\/p>\n

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communication Akbar Ayub Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communications Secretary Shahab Khattak and several members of the Standing Committee including Shafiullah, Muhammad Azam Khan, Mian Nisar Gul, Muhammad Idrees, Sharafat Ali, and Bahadur Khan attended this meeting.<\/p>\n

Secretary Communications Khattak briefed the meeting members on roads and bridges planned for the next years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The briefing also included details on the road projects completed so far in the province, where the Communications Department completed roads measuring 15,711 kilometres. The secretary mentioned that in addition to constructing new roads and bridges, the Communications Department will also focus on maintaining the existing road infrastructure in the province.<\/p>\n

In response to the information shared in the briefing, the meeting members stressed that while planning the new road projects, the department should thoroughly consider factors such as traffic conditions, rise in population and the economic conditions in the respective areas.<\/p>\n
