Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday launched the second phase of registration process<\/a> for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) \u2013 a news source reported. The purpose of this facility is to collect the data pertaining to the housing shortfall in the country.<\/p>\n

Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar, special assistants Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Naeemul Haq, Naya Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) Chairman Anwar Ali Hyder, Secretary Housing Dr Imran, and other senior government officials were all present at the occasion.<\/p>\n

The PM also announced the launch of an online portal service (www.nphp.nadra.gov.pk) which was recently launched to facilitate the applicants seeking to register themselves for inclusion in the affordable housing scheme.
\nHe said that the federal cabinet would approve necessary legislations which would enable the financial institutions to extend their loan facilities to those who could not afford private accommodation.<\/p>\n

He urged the public to apply for the NPHP registration on a priority basis \u2013 something which would provide leverage for compiling the data required to undertake developments initiatives.<\/p>\n

He also expressed the confidence that his government would launch similar initiatives countrywide; including Quetta, Gwadar, Lahore and Islamabad to overcome Pakistan\u2019s housing deficit.
