Islamabad: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi urged citizens on Wednesday to file their income tax returns for tax year 2018 and benefit from the board\u2019s August 2 deadline extension<\/a>, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that anyone who owns a property in the country larger than 500 sq yd or a vehicle over 1,000cc is legally bound to file tax returns. He added that the last date for filing tax returns for the year 2018 has been extended till August 2 \u2013 making the time interval in between an excellent opportunity for people who still need to document their returns.<\/p>\n

In June, Zaidi had stated that the FBR was working on a long-term strategy for expanding the tax net in the country. He also underlined the need for building the confidence of the business community in order to facilitate Pakistan\u2019s economic recovery.<\/p>\n
