Islamabad: Germany has offered to provide a grant assistance package of EUR 12,000,000 to Pakistan for the development of various schemes in Khyber Pakhtunwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), as per a news report. This aid bolus has been pledged by the German Development Bank (KfW) for the progress of the Social Health Protection Scheme Phase-II initiative in the two provinces. A set of financial agreements for this purpose were signed by German Development Bank (KfW) Country Director Wolfgang Moeller and Economic Affairs Division Secretary Noor Ahmed. This ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Muhammad Hammad Azhar. As per these agreements, KfW will provide funds worth EUR 2,600,000 for GB and grant assistance worth EUR 9,400,000 for KP. Azhar thanked the German government for this offer; remarking that it would help address healthcare issues in KP and GB.
